We are in search of an LLM Engineer to create and enhance AI models with a focus on large language models, driving our efforts to innovate and implement generative AI applications.

In the role of LLM Engineer, you will capitalize on Large Language Models (LLMs) and cutting-edge methodologies to address Generative AI (GenAI) use cases. Your contributions will be vital in deploying, fine-tuning, and scaling GenAI applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability within a production setting. This position allows for close collaboration with Applied Scientists, Data Scientists, and Product teams to realize and scale advanced GenAI solutions to handle increasing demands.

This article outlines our vision for the future structure of our LLM Application Stack, a key responsibility for this role in terms of integration and continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and sustain a robust, efficient, and scalable GenAI application infrastructure
• Deploy LLMs and other Machine Learning models into a production environment, ensuring high performance and availability
• Create and manage caching layers to enhance the efficiency of GenAI applications
• Establish monitoring and logging systems to oversee model performance and system health
• Partner with Data Scientists to incorporate models into current systems and workflows
• Enhance model inference times and resource usage for effective large-scale data management
• Apply best practices in Software Engineering, including testing, CI/CD, and clean coding principles, to Machine Learning initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to comprehend business needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Diagnose and resolve challenges related to model deployment and system integration
• Stay informed on the latest developments in GenAI, machine learning infrastructure, and distributed systems

Your Profile

• Strong foundation in software engineering with a specialization in machine learning infrastructure
• Experience in deploying, scaling, and optimizing Machine Learning models in a production context
• Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Practical experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
• Proficient in Python, with knowledge of additional programming languages such as Java, C++, or Go being advantageous
• Well-versed in CI/CD pipelines, coding best practices, version control systems, and DevOps methodologies
• Acquainted with GenAI technologies and frameworks, with a strong interest in their evolution and application
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to independently manage projects from inception to completion
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Possess a growth mindset, always seeking to refine processes and systems for improvement
• Able to manage the entire project lifecycle from ideation to execution with minimal supervision
