Engineering Manager

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with deep expertise in Java, Hibernate, and the Cards & Payments domain. In this role, you will lead engineering teams, manage the design and delivery of applications, champion technical excellence, and help build secure, scalable, and dependable payment processing solutions.

Experience

12–16 years of overall IT experience.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Java and Hibernate.
• Extensive experience in enterprise application development.
• Strong understanding of Cards & Payments domain.
• Knowledge of card issuance, authorization, clearing, settlement, and dispute management.
• Experience in Java application architecture and design.
• Strong knowledge of Hibernate ORM, data modeling, and database performance tuning.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and transaction management.
• Experience with CI/CD, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Strong technical leadership and engineering team management skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the end-to-end design, development, and delivery of enterprise Java and Hibernate applications for Cards & Payments platforms.
2. Manage engineering teams and drive project planning, prioritization, and on-time delivery of business requirements.
3. Establish scalable and resilient application architecture for high-volume payment processing systems.
4. Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and compliance teams to convert business requirements into technical solutions.
5. Ensure secure coding practices, transaction integrity, and adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements.
6. Lead code reviews, define and uphold technical standards, ensure automated testing practices, and promote continuous integration.
7. Improve and optimize Java applications, Hibernate components, and database performance.
8. Oversee production support activities, including incident management, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive actions.
9. Track and enhance application performance, availability, and reliability using effective logging and monitoring.
10. Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices across teams.
11. Coordinate with infrastructure and operations teams on capacity planning, deployments, and application stability.
12. Ensure engineering roadmaps align with business goals and continuously enhance payment platform performance.
