Job Description

Job Summary

Serve as an embedded systems developer delivering reliable software solutions for automotive customers by building and maintaining embedded applications using Embedded C alongside Opcenter Exec Discrete or Process and Teamcenter within a hybrid work environment. Partner with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and sustain production-ready capabilities that strengthen manufacturing efficiency and product quality, while adhering to stringent automotive standards.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded software components in Embedded C that meet automotive performance, safety, and reliability expectations by following established coding standards and project guidelines.

Build and optimize real-time software modules that communicate with automotive hardware components to ensure predictable operation and stable integration across vehicle systems.

Configure and extend Opcenter Exec Discrete or Process workflows to enable efficient automotive manufacturing execution, including routing, sequencing, and traceability functionality.

Work with process engineers and plant stakeholders to convert automotive production requirements into actionable Opcenter Exec configurations that increase throughput and minimize manual involvement.

Use Teamcenter capabilities in everyday development activities by managing requirements, design data, and change requests to ensure complete traceability across the full product lifecycle.

Evaluate existing embedded and manufacturing execution solutions to uncover defects, performance bottlenecks, and usability gaps, then implement targeted improvements that enhance system stability and productivity.

Collaborate with testers and quality teams to establish test scenarios, prepare test data, and assist in verification execution to confirm alignment with automotive quality and safety requirements.

Record software design decisions and operational procedures in a clear, structured format so project teams and support groups can understand, maintain, and further develop the delivered solutions.

Participate in code reviews and configuration reviews to maintain quality standards, provide constructive feedback to peers, and ensure all updates align with architectural and domain requirements.

Support the rollout of embedded software and Opcenter Exec solutions into test and production environments by preparing deployment deliverables and assisting with cutover activities to reduce operational disruption.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including hardware manufacturing and product management stakeholders, to clarify requirements, resolve integration challenges, and ensure delivered functionality meets real operational needs.

Apply automotive domain expertise to assess software behavior in vehicle and plant contexts, ensuring conformance to industry expectations for safety diagnostics and lifecycle management.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance development workflows, tooling, and documentation practices, increasing efficiency and reducing cycle time for future automotive programs.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience in Embedded C development with a strong understanding of memory management, interrupt handling, and low-level interfacing appropriate for automotive electronic control units.

Demonstrated practical experience with Opcenter Exec Discrete or Process, including configuring production flows, electronic work instructions, and data collection for automotive manufacturing environments.

Proven ability to use Teamcenter to manage product structures, engineering change workflows, and version-controlled artifacts that support complex automotive programs.

Strong knowledge of automotive industry practices, including quality expectations, traceability needs, and collaboration patterns between engineering and manufacturing teams.

Ability to operate in a hybrid model by coordinating tasks, communication, and documentation with distributed teams while maintaining consistent productivity.

Strong analytical and debugging skills to investigate issues in embedded systems and manufacturing execution environments by using logs, traces, and test results.

Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that design decisions, trade-offs, and implementation details are understood and aligned with project goals.
