Deputy Group Manager PTP SME

Introduction

We are looking for an experienced Finance Transformation consultant with a specialization in Accounts Payable (AP) to drive process optimization, AI-enabled automation, and operational efficiency. This position demands a combination of consulting capability, proficiency with AI tools, and hands-on delivery experience to implement meaningful improvements while maintaining business continuity. The successful candidate will bring strong P2P functional knowledge and practical experience deploying AI copilots and intelligent automation solutions across the AP lifecycle.

Your Role And Responsibilities

• AP Process Transformation & AI Implementation
• Support the development and execution of AP process transformation roadmaps, with AI and automation milestones embedded at every phase.
• Identify, implement, and operationalize AI use cases across invoice capture, PO matching, exception handling, and payment processing.
• Configure and deploy intelligent automation solutions, including AI-OCR, RPA bots, and Generative AI copilots, within AP workflows.
• Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, enhanced by AI diagnostics, to enable continuous improvement.
• AI & Technology Execution in P2P
• Deliver digital transformation initiatives, including AI-driven invoice processing, OCR integration, and ERP-native intelligent automation.
• Configure, deploy, and operate AP automation tools on platforms such as SAP S/4HANA Intelligent Invoice Management, Microsoft Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and RPA environments.
• Build and test Prompt Engineering scripts for Generative AI applications in AP, including invoice extraction, exception summarisation, and vendor query response.
• Evaluate AI model outputs for accuracy, exception rates, and STP performance; escalate any anomalies to the Transformation Leader.
• Remain current with emerging AP AI technologies such as Agentic AI, large language models for finance, and AI-native ERP capabilities.
• Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with AP managers, procurement stakeholders, and vendor contacts to align on AI transformation goals.
• Partner with global finance teams to ensure standardisation and compliance across AI-augmented AP workflows.
• Support vendor negotiations and technology evaluations from both a functional AP viewpoint and an AI capability perspective.
• Operational Excellence & Compliance
• Define and track KPIs, including touchless invoice rate, AI exception resolution rate, STP %, cost-per-invoice, and on-time payment.
• Ensure compliance with financial governance, regulatory requirements (GST, Peppol, VAT), and AI ethics policies.
• Conduct periodic audits of AP controls, fraud risk exposure, and AI model integrity.
• Consulting & Change Management
• Drive AP process improvement initiatives using AI diagnostics, process mining findings, and intelligent benchmarking data.
• Enable structured change management across AI adoption readiness, team reskilling, and communication planning.
• Facilitate training for AI-augmented AP tools, Prompt Engineering fundamentals, and Copilot usage for finance teams.
• Delivery & Communication
• Produce AP transformation deliverables, including AI use case assessments, business cases, solution design documents, and implementation trackers.
• Share delivery progress, AI impact metrics, and recommendations with Transformation Leaders and client finance stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, AI-first thinking, and operational accountability.

• Deep expertise in P2P / AP processes, procurement finance, and shared services environments.
• Consulting experience in finance transformation, AI-enabled automation, and process reengineering.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Workday) and AI-native AP automation platforms.
• Practical experience configuring, testing, and deploying AI and automation tools in AP production environments.
• Strong analytical skills to measure AI impact and communicate outcomes to operational and management audiences.
• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across finance, IT, and operations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for client-facing delivery

• MBA, CA, or CPA qualification will be an advantage.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma, AI for Finance, Microsoft Power Automate, Copilot Studio, or SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience in global finance transformation and shared service centre environments.
• Familiarity with e-invoicing mandates (India GST, EU Peppol) and AI compliance implications in AP.
