Data Centre Field Engineer

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Centre operations, preferably in a team context.
• Proven experience in a high-pressure setting with 24x7 on-call responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes grounded in ITIL best practices.
• Experience in supporting Data Centre providers and outsourcing vendors.
• Quick learner with the capacity to efficiently use proprietary software.
• Exhibit strong multitasking abilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates a strong work ethic with a proactive approach to responsibilities.
• An analytical mindset with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
• Able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Must possess experience in data centre operations within financial institutions.

Job Objective

To provide support for mission-critical data centre and remote building operations in Singapore. This position involves a 12-hour rotating shift schedule to assist with data centre operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of data centre operational tasks and responsibilities.
• Carry out daily data centre/computer operational duties (including key management, vendor escorting, facilities infrastructure inspections, powering up onboarded servers, degaussing, routine checks, and laptop management).
• Exhibit strong capability in supporting activities within the data centre and secure areas.
• Ensure strict adherence to data centre procedures.
• Promptly escalate all incidents, following standard incident response protocols, and monitor each incident until complete resolution.
• Prepare reports for management.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned by management.
• Be prepared to cover duties as necessary.
• The candidate will rotate monthly between different data centres, alternating between East and West locations.
