Transaction Monitoring Specialist / Senior Specialist

Job Overview

• Monitor and review AML transaction alerts (Level 1 processing) daily, conducting thorough investigations within established timelines.
• Perform in-depth analyses utilizing both internal and external resources, delivering recommendations supported by documentation for the closure of alerts or escalation to Level 2.
• Maintain comprehensive records of information sources for audit purposes.
• Respond promptly to requests for information (RFI) from stakeholders.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and report generation tasks as directed by the Head of Department.
• Evaluate AML transaction monitoring and Client Screening alerts, investigating transactional activities within required timeframes to identify potential money laundering or terrorist financing activities.
• Communicate findings from the alert analysis process to local Compliance to aid in determining whether the facts necessitate STR filing in compliance with local regulations.
• Generate both routine and ad-hoc reports for various internal stakeholders, including the Management Board, Committees, and Country/Regional Compliance Teams or Departments.
• Complete assigned training within the specified deadlines.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

• Candidates with AML certification and experience managing US alerts will be given preference.
• Experience in compliance within international financial institutions or service providers.
• Strong understanding of AML and Sanction regulations.
• Experience with generated system alerts (preferably from AML transaction monitoring systems) and Client Name Screening tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively across diverse cultures and geographic boundaries.
• Genuine interest in transaction investigations, with strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective team player with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.
• Experienced user of Microsoft tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
