Your Role And Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Technical Content Developer who independently owns end-to-end documentation for assigned products, using AI tools to accelerate work while verifying accuracy.

What You'll Do

• Plan, author, and maintain user guides, API docs, UI text, CLI references, architecture diagrams, and release notes
• Own the documentation plan (scope, priorities, timelines) and keep stakeholders informed
• Use approved AI tools for drafting and review, and confirm results against code, builds, and SMEs
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, designers, and SMEs as the primary documentation point of contact for the product
• Use IBM Design Thinking to create content that is clear and accessible
• Contribute within Agile/Scrum cycles and leverage GitHub-based, single-sourced documentation workflows
• Review teammates’ content, serve as a quality gatekeeper, and mentor junior writers
• Identify content gaps and apply data insights to reduce support volume
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's in a related field plus 7+ years of technical writing, including independent senior-level work
• DITA/XML, Markdown, or HTML, with tools such as Oxygen and a Git-hub based publishing system
• Experience using AI writing tools throughout the documentation lifecycle
• Ability to quickly understand complex software, cloud, and APIs
• Working knowledge of Git workflows (branching, PRs, docs-as-code)
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a documentation set
• Strong communication skills with global, cross-functional teams
• Agile experience with JIRA or Confluence

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Technical Writing and Editing Skills: Experience working with technical writing and editing, information architecture, and visual design to develop clear and compelling content.
• UI Writing and Content Development: Experience with UI writing and content development using a variety of skills, including video production, instructional design, digital learning, AI technology, and social media.
• Information Architecture: Knowledge of how to organize and amplify information into clear, compelling content that is easy for clients to access throughout their digital journey.
• Exposure to Design Thinking Principles: Familiarity with applying design thinking principles to present technical content clearly and compellingly, helping clients digitally self-serve and succeed with offerings.
• Visual Design and Content Creation: Experience using visual design and content creation tools to produce engaging, effective content aligned to client needs.

Video Production Skills: Exposure to video production techniques to develop engaging and effective content that improves the client experience.
