Systems Deployment Engineer

In the role of Systems Deployment Engineer, you will oversee the installation, deployment, and proof of concepts for a commercial product. This position requires you to implement innovative strategies for operating and supporting infrastructure to deliver outstanding results.

Your responsibilities will include maintaining and managing access to systems while addressing technical challenges that encompass infrastructure, software, networking, system administration, and documentation. You will be tasked with ensuring a secure, stable, and reliable operations center, while advocating for both customer and operator requirements. Additionally, you will collaborate with Operations, the Program Management Office, and Engineering teams to design, deploy, and manage comprehensive enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities

● Implement and configure air-gapped cloud solutions, such as Google Distributed Cloud (GDC).

● Install, configure, and administer diverse technologies, including but not limited to network switches, firewalls, block storage, object storage, servers, and hardware security modules.

● Set up and configure the Operations Center (OC) IT infrastructure, encompassing local workstations and IT equipment utilized for managing air-gapped cloud solutions.

● Diagnose and collaborate with engineering teams on any issues that arise during the deployment of air-gapped cloud solutions, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver sophisticated enterprise solutions.

● Enhance deployment and management processes for air-gapped cloud solutions by engaging with external stakeholders, including engineering teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

● A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related IT discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.

● At least 5 years of experience with Linux and operating systems technologies, including architecture/infrastructure related to compute infrastructure, as well as supporting, developing, and maintaining cloud solutions.

● Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise solutions.

● Proficient in managing hosted services/SaaS, and familiarity with one or more programming/scripting languages such as Java, C, C++, .NET, Go, Python, shell, Perl, or JavaScript.

● Experience managing Kubernetes extensibility through Custom Resources and Custom Controller.

● Solid understanding of network switching, VLANs, subnetting, IP addressing, routing, and network troubleshooting.

● Possession of Singapore Government CAT 2A or higher security clearance (Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident).

Preferred Qualifications:

● Proficient knowledge of enterprise-grade operating systems, including experience with Linux/Unix/WSL, Kubernetes, and network administration.

● Familiarity with virtualization in Kubernetes, service mesh, and public key infrastructure.

● Knowledge of Cisco switches, network overlay VxLAN and VRF, and routing protocols.

● Experience in troubleshooting and supporting large-scale applications, including web services, data storage, databases, and high-performance computing on Linux/Unix or Windows operating systems.

● Background in data center operations.
