Systems Deployment Engineer

Job Overview

• In the capacity of a Systems Deployment Engineer, you will oversee the installation, deployment, and proof of concepts for a commercial product.
• Your role will focus on pioneering innovative strategies for operating and maintaining infrastructure to drive successful outcomes.
• Key responsibilities include:
• Managing and regulating access to systems.
• Diagnosing technical challenges that encompass infrastructure, software, networking, system administration, and documentation.
• Ensuring a secure, stable, and dependable operations center while prioritizing the needs of both customers and operators.
• Collaborating with Operations, the Program Management Office, and Engineering teams to design, deploy, and oversee enterprise solutions.

Core Responsibilities

• Implement and configure air-gapped cloud solutions, including Google Distributed Cloud (GDC).
• Setup, configure, and manage a range of technologies, such as network switches, firewalls, block storage, object storage, servers, and hardware security modules.
• Establish and configure the Operations Center (OC) IT infrastructure, which includes local workstations and IT equipment necessary for managing air-gapped cloud solutions.
• Diagnose issues and partner with engineering teams on challenges that may occur during the deployment of air-gapped cloud solutions.
• Collaborate internally and with external partners to execute complex enterprise solutions.
• Enhance deployment and management processes for air-gapped cloud solutions by engaging with external stakeholders like engineering teams.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related IT field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years working with Linux, operating systems technologies, and architecture/infrastructure in compute infrastructure, along with supporting, developing, and maintaining cloud solutions.
• Experience in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise solutions.
• Experience with managed services/SaaS, including knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Java, C, C++, .NET, Go, Python, shell, Perl, or JavaScript.
• Experience in managing Kubernetes extensibility using Custom Resources and Custom Controllers.
• Technical Expertise:
• Proficient in network switching, VLAN, subnetting, IP addressing, routing, and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with enterprise-grade operating systems, including Linux/Unix/WSL, Kubernetes, and network management.
• Knowledge of virtualization in Kubernetes, Service Mesh, and Public Key Infrastructure.
• Experience with Cisco switches, network overlays like VxLAN and VRF, and various routing protocols.
• Additional Skills:
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and supporting large-scale applications, including web services, data storage, databases, and high-performance computing environments using Linux/Unix or Windows operating systems.
• Experience in data center operations is essential.
• Additional Requirement:
• Possession of Singapore Government CAT 2A or higher security clearance (applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents).
