SOLR & SpaCy

Job Overview:

• We are looking for a skilled Senior Consultant with a robust background in Apache SOLR, SpaCy, and enterprise search technologies to create, develop, and enhance intelligent search and NLP-driven solutions.
• The successful candidate will possess hands-on experience in building scalable search platforms, text analytics, information retrieval, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions tailored for enterprise applications.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and sustain enterprise search solutions leveraging Apache SOLR.
• Construct and refine search indexes, query processing, ranking, faceting, and relevance tuning.
• Create NLP solutions utilizing SpaCy for text extraction, entity recognition, classification, and semantic search.
• Implement advanced search functionalities, including autocomplete, spell correction, synonym handling, and relevance optimization.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to grasp search and content discovery needs.
• Integrate search solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, and various data sources.
• Monitor and enhance search performance, scalability, and availability.
• Develop tailored NLP pipelines and machine learning-based text processing solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues related to search indexing and query execution.
• Guide junior team members and actively participate in solution architecture and design discussions.

Technical Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with Apache SOLR and Lucene.
• Practical expertise in SpaCy and Python for NLP development.
• Proficient programming skills in Python, Java, or similar technologies.
• Experience in information retrieval, text mining, and tuning search relevance.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Experience with JSON, XML, and large structured and unstructured datasets.
• Familiarity with indexing, tokenization, stemming, and ranking algorithms.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with Elasticsearch and OpenSearch.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning and Generative AI applications.
• Understanding of Transformer models, BERT, or LLM-based search implementations.
• Experience with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Knowledge of vector databases and semantic search technologies.
