Senior project Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee and coordinate IT project delivery. You will track timelines and dependencies, manage and mitigate risks, and ensure smooth collaboration among stakeholders, offshore teams, and external vendors. The successful candidate will bring strong skills in project planning, communication, reporting, and coordination, along with the ability to drive project workstreams and support on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor project scope, deliverables, schedules, milestones, resources, and dependencies.
• Maintain project plans, trackers, status reports, risk registers, issue logs, and action items.
• Track project execution, follow up on commitments, and proactively escalate risks and delivery blockers.
• Coordinate effectively with distributed teams, international stakeholders, and external vendors.
• Lead project meetings, record and communicate decisions, and ensure action items are closed on time.
• Manage risks, issues, defects, resource dependencies, and change requests.
• Coordinate technical change rollouts, release activities, and post-launch support.
• Create and share regular project updates, progress reports, and delivery status with stakeholders and leadership.
• Enable Agile delivery by managing sprint tracking, task management, and progress monitoring.
• Ensure clear communication and alignment across teams to meet project objectives.

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of experience in IT Project Management or Project Coordination.
• Proven expertise in project planning, scheduling, milestone tracking, and dependency management.
• Experience with risk management, issue resolution, defect tracking, and resource coordination.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and reporting capabilities.
• Experience coordinating offshore/distributed teams and external vendors.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and project tracking tools.
• Ability to manage project documentation, status reporting, and action-item tracking.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• PMP, PRINCE2, or another relevant project management certification.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience collaborating with international stakeholders, especially Canadian teams.
• Exposure to Calgary-based stakeholders and cross-time-zone collaboration.
• Experience coordinating technical change rollouts, releases, and post-production support.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Confluence, or equivalent project tracking platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
