Senior Business Analyst

Position Overview
This role is integral to a significant transformation initiative aimed at developing the next-generation Market Surveillance platform for Global Surveillance teams. Serving as a vital link between surveillance strategy and technical implementation, the successful candidate will convert intricate business requirements into well-structured, actionable specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert business needs into detailed, clear documentation including acceptance criteria, user stories, and supporting materials.
• Establish, document, prioritize, and validate data and functional specifications for the Trade Surveillance platform.
• Collaborate with cross-regional Surveillance teams across Europe and the US for project planning and requirements collection.
• Engage directly with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to review and confirm requirements.
• Oversee the project backlog and lead calibration and tuning activities during the deployment of surveillance models and detection patterns.
• Assist with Surveillance operational functions, including review of business initiatives and support for market abuse risk assessments.

Essential Skills & Expertise

• Exceptional data analysis capabilities, with advanced skills in SQL-based querying and analysis.
• Deep understanding of trading data structures, trading protocols, exchange regulations, and coverage across asset classes and products.
• Proven ability to interpret complex business and technical requirements into comprehensive documentation.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies, utilizing tools such as JIRA for project management.
• Knowledge of trade surveillance processes and systems.

Educational Background & Certifications

• A Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business or Product Analyst within capital markets, fintech, or regulated trading environments.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with compliance monitoring frameworks or market regulation standards.
• Background in developing large-scale data integration pipelines or managing market data feeds.
• Exposure to international teams and client engagement across regions.
• Experience with trade surveillance vendor platforms and system calibration procedures.
• Proficiency in using JIRA for backlog management, sprint planning, and Agile project workflows.
• Skill in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
