Job Description
As a Software Engineering Group (SEG) & India CFO, you will drive meaningful impact as a strategic finance leader with full end-to-end P&L accountability for a major service line generating annual revenue of more than USD 5Bn, while also serving as CFO for the Cognizant India organization. You will be an integral member of the Finance leadership team, collaborating closely with senior leaders across the Service Line, Commercial and Corporate FP&A, Operations, the Cognizant India Board, and the India Leadership Council.
In this role, you will:
- Own and deliver budget and forecasted revenue and margins, managing every component of budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across functions, including detailed analysis of consolidated and practice-level P&L results versus budget, forecast, and prior performance.
- Act as a strategic advisor to leadership by providing analytical perspectives and options, developing business-case initiatives across all P&L segments, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and grow sustainable margins.
- Deliver business advisory support across the full contract lifecycle—covering deal pricing modeling through to evaluating and improving the financial strength of portfolio accounts—and provide executives with clear visibility into growth drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Oversee India financial regulatory matters as a member of the India Board of Directors, coordinate with India regulators as needed, and contribute to the India Leadership Council on subjects such as employee engagement, Tier 2 expansion, and CSR.
- Lead with integrity to build an inclusive, energized, and engaged team, while initiating continuous improvements to automate and scale forecasting, reporting tools, and systems.
What you need to have to be considered:
- Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a Tier 1 institute.
- 15+ years of finance experience, with 10+ years in financial leadership roles preferred.
- Broad experience across financial disciplines, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, along with in-depth understanding of the India regulatory environment.
- Strong knowledge of the IT Services industry, including experience working in global, multinational organizations.
- Exceptional leadership skills to lead large teams, supported by strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and clear oral and written communication with executive leadership.
These will help you stand out:
- Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Corporate FP&A, and Operations to develop and execute financial strategy.
- Experience balancing stakeholder priorities and aligning investment decisions with clearly defined ROI objectives and accountability.
- Proven experience delivering transformation initiatives and embedding financial and operational ownership across practices.
