Sector Specialists are subject matter experts across sectors such as Healthcare, Financial Services, Consumer Goods & Services, Retail, and more. The position focuses on developing an Industry Landscape, defining the sector, discovering compelling business models, and performing competitor analysis. The resulting research is leveraged by numerous Venture Funds and Corporates to guide investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Industry Definition 
• Carry out deep research to identify markets within the industry.
• Eg: Consumer Goods Industry would include markets like Consumer Electronics, Fashion, FMCG, etc.
• Market Definition
• Create an in-depth understanding of companies operating in the market.
• Pinpoint sectors that would be attractive to VC / PE clients for investment.
• Eg: Consumer Electronics Market would include sectors like Mobiles, Computers, Home Appliances, etc.
• Market Taxonomy
• Group companies into categories and develop a detailed market taxonomy.
• Eg: Zomato and FreshMenu would be classified in different groups for the FoodTech segment.
• Monitor companies and events within the sector to continuously enhance the taxonomy.
• Produce a landscape view of the market, highlighting the most important sub-markets.
• Identify Top Business Models 
• Review business models used by companies and assess their long-term sustainability.
• Assign ratings to business models based on market size.
• Competitor Analysis
• Examine leading companies within each market and identify competitors.
• Build an in-depth understanding of the Tracxn platform and its features.
• Lead Daily Review meetings with the Manager. Actively solicit feedback on the approach, quality, and throughput of all work performed. Apply suggestions.
