Scala Developer

Job Overview:

• We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Scala Developer to create, develop, and enhance large-scale data processing solutions.
• The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in Scala programming, distributed data processing frameworks, and contemporary data engineering methodologies.
• You will collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to construct scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions that facilitate data-driven decision-making across organizations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications utilizing Scala.
• Create and optimize data processing pipelines with Apache Spark and Scala.
• Develop ETL and ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and manage substantial volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Work in collaboration with business analytics and engineering teams to grasp requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Produce efficient, maintainable, and reusable code in alignment with software engineering best practices.
• Enhance application and data pipeline performance through tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Integrate solutions with databases, data lakes, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, scalability, and security throughout data solutions.
• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Assist with production deployments and promptly address technical issues as they arise.

Technical Qualifications:

• 5 to 7 years of practical experience in Scala development.
• Strong command of Scala programming concepts, including functional programming, collections, concurrency, and object-oriented design.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Spark SQL, DataFrames, and Dataset APIs.
• Robust SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience in developing and maintaining ETL data processing applications.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience using version control systems, particularly Git.
• Knowledge of distributed computing and big data concepts.
