Resident Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role

We are hiring a proactive, hands-on Resident Infrastructure Engineer to help support and maintain a multi-site IT environment.

The selected candidate will be accountable for maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of network, server, storage, and backup infrastructure. This role also includes participating in infrastructure upgrades, performing technical troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors, and supporting infrastructure and technology projects.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Operations & Support

• Operate, manage, and maintain enterprise servers, network hardware, storage systems, and backup infrastructure.
• Administer onsite and offsite backup solutions using Veeam.
• Provide support for Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and physical server platforms.
• Monitor and maintain network connectivity, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure across multiple locations.
• Troubleshoot network access control (NAC), connectivity, and security-related incidents.
• Support wireless technologies, including Aruba, Cisco, and Ruckus.

Systems & Asset Management

• Manage the operational lifecycle of Synology NAS storage, physical servers, and Nutanix clusters.
• Maintain SSL certificates and support infrastructure security requirements.
• Oversee APC UPS equipment, including maintenance and replacement planning.
• Coordinate ISP service renewals, infrastructure upgrades, and technology refresh activities.
• Carry out firewall configuration changes and support continuous network improvement efforts.

Project & Technical Coordination

• Support infrastructure migration and server room relocation activities.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain accurate technical records, infrastructure documentation, and operational procedures.
• Assess and identify opportunities to enhance infrastructure stability and improve service delivery.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Communications or a related discipline.
• Preferably 3–5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration or network engineering.
• Hands-on experience supporting enterprise networks, servers and infrastructure platforms.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, network security and Windows environments.
• Familiarity with firewalls, switching, wireless networks and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Exposure to Veeam, Nutanix, Cisco, Aruba, Ruckus or Synology would be advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to communicate effectively in English and work independently in an onsite environment.
• Customer-focused, proactive and willing to learn new technologies.
