Role Overview and Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

1. Design new products and modify existing designs in accordance with engineering specifications, ensuring adherence to quality and performance standards.
2. Develop engineering layouts and 3D models utilizing CAD software, with a focus on CREO.
3. Evaluate product designs to confirm proper form, fit, function, manufacturability, assembly, and usability.
4. Choose suitable materials, standard components, and engineering parameters for product development.
5. Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams on prototypes, fabrication processes, materials, and component selection.
6. Prepare and update engineering documentation, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), parts lists, and technical specifications.
7. Estimate timeframes for design tasks and regularly update project progress.
8. Coordinate closely with engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and other internal departments to ensure project completion within deadlines.
9. Maintain accurate design documentation and ensure compliance with engineering and manufacturing standards.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering with specialization in Design or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 2+ years of relevant experience in design engineering roles.
• Proficiency in CREO CAD software is essential.
• Familiarity with parametric modelling is preferred.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Capability to design and document products across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Experience with SAP and Variant Configuration is advantageous.
• Knowledge of commercial office furniture, laminates, wood veneers, case goods, or architectural solutions will be beneficial.
