Power BI Admin

Position Overview:

• Infosys is in search of a seasoned leader in modern Business Intelligence (BI) platform administration who will be accountable for the design, deployment, and maintenance of our enterprise-level visualization cloud platform.
• The successful candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with visualization platform technologies, particularly native visualization technologies on Azure and AWS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development, platform provisioning, administration, cloud network design, cloud security principles, and automation aimed at minimizing repetitive tasks.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Candidates must either reside within commuting distance of Plano, TX, or be open to relocating to the area.
• This role may necessitate travel within the United States.
• A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent foreign degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in lieu of each year of formal education.

• Proficient in overseeing platform upgrades, patching, user provisioning, workspace project management, BI content migration, performance optimization, and license management.
• Implement and oversee data source connectivity, gateway management, capacity planning, and security models.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery preparedness, and platform scalability.
• Experienced in designing end-to-end BI platform architectures that support enterprise-level analytics.
• Define and uphold governance standards, which include:
• o Data security and RLS (Row-Level Security) authorization frameworks
• o Naming conventions
• o Workspace project taxonomy
• o Lifecycle management for development, testing, and production
• o Usage audit and monitoring
• Collaborate with Data Architecture and Cloud teams to establish best practice integration patterns.
• Manage and mentor a team of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in cloud visualization platform infrastructure, providing technical leadership and guidance.
• Oversee all aspects of platform lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, capacity planning, performance optimization, and financial license oversight.
• Facilitate the introduction of new features, tools, and innovations that improve user experience and productivity in partnership with the new product innovation and enterprise architecture teams.
• User access management including managing user accounts, permissions, and roles.
• Capacity management to ensure adequate resources are available to meet user needs.
• Platform configuration including setting policies and features to align with organizational requirements and security protocols.
• Governance and compliance to ensure adherence to organizational policies and industry regulations.
• Monitoring and auditing of platform usage, performance, and activity tracking.
• Familiarity with various Azure and AWS database platforms and SQL is essential.

Technical Qualifications:

• 2 to 5 years of experience in Power BI Administration or related BI positions.
• Solid understanding of Power BI Service, Desktop, and Gateway configuration.
• Experience with Azure services such as Azure AD and Azure SQL Data Factory is preferred.
• Proficient in DAX, Power Query, M language, and data modeling concepts.
• Strong grasp of data warehousing, ETL processes, and database systems, including SQL Server.
• Experience in implementing security measures, RLS, data privacy, and compliance.
• Knowledge of Power BI Premium capacity management is an advantage.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and PowerShell scripting for automation is desirable.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
