Job Description
Job Overview:
- We are in search of a knowledgeable IT OT Networking Engineer who specializes in industrial networking, OT cybersecurity, ICS, SCADA systems, and network security.
- This position entails designing, securing, and maintaining integrated IT OT networks within manufacturing, utilities, energy, and industrial sectors, with a focus on ensuring reliability, compliance, and uninterrupted connectivity.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and manage IT OT network infrastructures adhering to the Purdue Model and principles of defense in depth.
- Configure and oversee VLANs, ACLs, VRFs, OSPF, BGP, NAT, QoS, DMZs, and network segmentation.
- Implement and manage firewall solutions from Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco.
- Facilitate connectivity for SCADA, PLC, RTU, HMI, Historian, and IIoT systems.
- Establish secure remote access solutions utilizing VPNs, Jump Servers, and Zero Trust architectures.
- Monitor and diagnose network performance using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, Wireshark, Nozomi, and Claroty.
- Secure industrial communication protocols like Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, DNP3, and BACnet.
Technical Qualifications:
- 9 to 15 years of experience in Network Engineering, including a minimum of 3 years in OT industrial settings such as Manufacturing, Utilities, Pharmaceuticals, Energy, or Oil & Gas.
- In-depth knowledge of L2 and L3 networking, along with Routing, Switching, VLANs, ACLs, STP, HSRP, VRRP, OSPF, BGP, and QoS.
- Hands-on familiarity with networking solutions from Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or HPE, as well as firewalls from Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco.
- Experience with network services and tools like DHCP, DNS, NTP, IPAM, Syslog, and Wireshark.
- Strong understanding of ICS SCADA architectures, Purdue Model, OT DMZ design, Historian connectivity, and industrial networking principles.
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, OPC UA, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, and DNP3.
- Familiarity with OT cybersecurity frameworks and controls, including IEC 62443, NIST CSF, IDS, IPS, NAC, SIEM, and vulnerability management.
