Hiring: Linux Engineer – Network Security & Infrastructure

Qboyd Software Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Linux Engineer who has deep knowledge of Linux administration, network security, firewall technologies, and infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure.
• Manage Linux distributions, including NixOS and RHEL.
• Provide support for GUIX and immutable operating-system environments.
• Configure and manage Linux firewall technologies, including nftables and iptables.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot network security configurations and firewall policies.
• Support Layer 2 Routing & Switching.
• Collaborate with enterprise firewall platforms such as Cisco, FortiGate, Check Point, and Palo Alto.
• Implement network security zoning and stateful firewall policies.
• Work with Cilium for networking and security.
• Support Suricata for threat detection and security monitoring.
• Troubleshoot Linux networking, connectivity, routing, and security issues.

Mandatory Skills:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Linux engineering.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting expertise.
• Hands-on experience with NixOS.
• Knowledge of Cilium, Suricata, and nftables.
• Experience with iptables.
• Layer 2 Routing & Switching knowledge.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls: Cisco, FortiGate, Check Point, or Palo Alto.
• Knowledge of RHEL, GUIX, and immutable operating systems.
• Understanding of network security, zoning, and stateful firewalls.

Good to Have:

• Experience with Zeek.
• Linux network security and traffic filtering.
• Firewall policy implementation and troubleshooting.
• Network monitoring and security analysis.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a senior Linux Engineer with strong Linux systems administration skills, along with hands-on expertise in networking, firewall implementation, and network security.
