Lead Software Developer – L2/L3 Networking Datapath

Join our dynamic and skilled engineering team to engage in the design and implementation of embedded system software for top-tier, high-performance data networking products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess requirements and collaborate with functional teams to design, develop, and deliver high-caliber software.
• Engage in software design reviews while clearly articulating system software specifications.
• Develop architectural designs and solutions for new features and enhancements on Broadcom ASICs.
• Conduct experiments and project various performance and scalability adjustments, ensuring optimal utilization of board hardware devices and software resources.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Marketing, SQA, and other development teams to guarantee that the software complies with all performance, scalability, interoperability, and security standards.
• Lead the datapath team, facilitating interactions across organizational boundaries when coordination is required.
• Create functional and design specifications and oversee the sign-off process.
• Engage with developers, QA, documentation, customer support, and program management teams.
• Involve yourself in the complete product life cycle development.

Essential Skills Description:

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Networking/Telecom, Embedded Systems, or Network Management.
• Proficient programming skills in C/C++.
• Experience in both software and hardware packet forwarding.
• Hands-on experience with Broadcom ASICs such as Trident, Jericho, or Qumran.
• Management of software for networking hardware resources, including TCAM, packet buffers, and RIB/FIB.
• Knowledge of IPv4/IPv6 routing/forwarding, PBR, ACL, rate-limiting, and QoS.
• Familiarity with MPLS, VPLS, VRF, L3VPN, VxLAN, OpenFlow, and SDN.
• Understanding of LLDP, LAG/LACP, Layer 2 switching, and Ethernet technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of thriving in flexible and dynamic work settings.
• Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Knowledge of system architecture, SDKs, or drivers for network processors or traffic managers.
• Experience with ASIC/FPGA.
• Familiarity with Go and microservices architecture.

Education: B.S./B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, or Information Technology.
