IST/Switch Application Support Specialist for UAE

Nair Systems is actively seeking an IST/Switch Application Support Specialist for our UAE operations, under the following terms and conditions.

Required Skills & Experience

• Practical experience working with the IST/Switch (FIS) payment switching platform within a live banking production environment.
• Knowledge of IST/Switch Active/Active configurations with Dual site deployment.
• Deep understanding of ISO 8583 messaging standards, EFT transaction lifecycle, authorization, clearing, and settlement processes.
• Familiarity with card-scheme interfaces and certifications, including Visa, Mastercard, and regional switches such as mada, UAESWITCH, and GCCNet.
• Experience working with HSM, key management, EMV, PCI DSS, and other payment security standards.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems, shell scripting, SQL, and log analysis techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support (Level 2/Level 3)

• Monitor transaction flows in real time to ensure the high availability and stability of the IST/Switch environment.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues related to transaction failures, authorization denials, timeouts, reconciliation discrepancies, and interface errors.
• Conduct root cause analyses and lead problem management efforts to mitigate future occurrences.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support and participate in major incident bridge calls to resolve critical issues promptly.

BAU Operations

• Perform daily health checks, monitor batch processes, and manage end-of-day settlement and reconciliation activities.
• Handle HSM key operations, certificate renewals, and updates related to card scheme mandates.
• Maintain and optimize ISO 8583 message configurations, routing tables, BIN/institution profiles, and standby parameters.
• Manage service requests, user access controls, and configuration modifications through formal change management procedures.
• Update and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles for reference and training.

Projects & Enhancements

• Support the launch of new card products, scheme mandates, interface integrations, and switch upgrades or migrations.
• Participate in requirement analysis, solution design, configuration, testing phases (SIT/UAT), and production deployment activities.
• Coordinate deployment activities, oversee release management, and provide post-implementation support.
• Contribute to disaster recovery testing and business continuity exercises to ensure operational resilience.
