AC TECHNICIAN

AIR CONDITIONING TECHNICIAN

JOB OBJECTIVE

• Perform repair and maintenance tasks on air conditioning systems within cranes, mobile equipment, and administrative offices, ensuring adherence to established safety and quality protocols.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute preventive maintenance and repair of air conditioning units to enhance operational reliability and reduce the likelihood of breakdowns and operational disruptions.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule, documenting inspections and any identified issues.
• Regularly monitor and assess air conditioning systems to evaluate their condition and extend their service life.
• Conduct fault diagnosis on the air conditioning equipment to identify defects, determine appropriate repair methods, and specify required spare parts.
• Select appropriate spare parts and gather technical information from manufacturer manuals and documentation.
• Provide routine inspection and monitoring reports as needed.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns reported by the Supervisor.
• Ensure that work orders are accurately updated with relevant information for system input.
• Coordinate with the foreman to generate work orders for all air conditioning-related tasks.
• Accurately record the start and end times of maintenance activities.
• Obtain foreman approval prior to making purchase requisitions and submitting them to the stores department.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workshop facilities and all associated equipment under their responsibility.
• Uphold safety and discipline standards within the work environment.
• Adhere to Fatal Risk Standards.
• Comply with Safe Work Practices.
• Follow HSE policy requirements.
• Report accidents and 'near misses' in accordance with established safety protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

• Relevant experience in a similar role.
• Required: 2 to 3 years of experience.
• Education:
• Preferred: Higher Secondary education.
• Preferred: Certification from a recognized course in air conditioning equipment management is required.
• Familiarity with technical manuals, parts documentation, and schematics.
• Thorough understanding of safety protocols.
