Position – Fraud Operations Analyst

Location – Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur)

Contract Length – 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Work Arrangement – On-site

Available for Rotational Shifts (Including Night Shifts)

Position Overview:

Fraud Operations Analysts are responsible for monitoring transactions and assessing customer behavior to detect fraudulent activities, reduce financial losses, and safeguard both customers and the bank from fraud risks.

Core Responsibilities

1. Transaction Oversight

• Examine real-time or batch transactions for irregular patterns
• Identify and flag suspicious activities (e.g., high-value transactions, unusual geolocations)
• Utilize fraud detection technologies and rule-based systems

2. Fraud Analysis

• Investigate flagged alerts to ascertain the occurrence of fraud
• Assess account history, device/IP information, and customer behavior
• Document findings meticulously and maintain comprehensive audit trails

3. Customer Engagement

• Reach out to customers to verify questionable transactions
• Inform customers about fraud risks and preventive measures
• Manage disputes and process fraud claims

4. Prevention Strategies & Controls

• Deactivate compromised accounts/cards
• Suggest enhancements to fraud detection rules or systems
• Collaborate with risk management teams to bolster controls

Essential Skills

Technical Proficiencies

• Familiarity with fraud detection software (e.g., Actimize, Falcon)
• Strong data analysis and pattern recognition abilities
• Comprehensive understanding of banking products (cards, payments, online banking)

Educational Background

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline
• 1–10 years of experience in banking, fraud analysis, risk management, or operational roles (varies based on position level)
