ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Job Purpose:

  To create comprehensive electrical designs, delivering engineering outputs to both internal and external clients by utilizing computer-aided design software, in alignment with project specifications, industry standards, and company engineering protocols, thereby facilitating the successful completion of projects.

Key Job Responsibilities: 

Description 

On-Time Submittal 

1. Examine the opening order, job specifications, and general drawings provided by the customer.
2. Develop a complete electrical drawing package for submission to the client in accordance with project requirements.
3. Generate an electrical bill of materials for the project.
4. Continuously oversee and assist drafters to ensure adherence to schedules and procedures.
5. Submit the comprehensive electrical drawing package, which includes detailed internal layouts and wiring diagrams, for manufacturing release.

Organize and communicate the committed deadlines for project engineering submissions, proactively updating the planned dates based on customer modifications.

Quality of Submittals

1. Review all project documents after initiation, identifying clarifications and conflicts prior to beginning the design process.
2. Work diligently to minimize Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) resulting from internal factors.
3. Aim to reduce the issuance of Revised Bills of Materials (BOMs) due to internal reasons.
4. Monitor and manage all incoming customer changes to ensure proper implementation in design submissions and re-submissions.

Efficiency 

1. Achieve or exceed set targets for standard design hours allocated per product category.
2. Consider company scope and material costs, avoiding the ordering of unbudgeted materials without prior approval from the project manager.

Compile and report all received customer changes in an organized manner for pricing and management by the project manager.

Facilitate Smooth Industrial Process

Address technical clarifications and requirements from various departments to ensure a seamless industrial process.

Customer Satisfaction 

1. Promptly resolve any outstanding inquiries or issues that arise during the design review process.

Comprehend customer needs and prepare design packages that meet expectations to achieve or surpass customer satisfaction index targets.

Qualifications:

BS in Electrical Engineering

Professional Skills: 

• Expertise in MS Office, AutoCAD, e-Plan, and drafting standards and practices.
• Familiarity with Siemens S8 and ABB ProE is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong planning abilities.
• Knowledge of symbols and terminology used in electrical engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with various electrical protection functions and schemes.
