LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Job Purpose

 To lead and coordinate day-to-day landscape maintenance operations, ensuring all landscaped areas are maintained to high standards of quality, safety, and overall presentation. This role manages workforce deployment and oversees softscape maintenance, irrigation coordination, plant health monitoring, site inspections, detailed work planning, and the timely completion of maintenance activities.

Job Responsibilities  

•      Supervise and coordinate all daily landscape maintenance activities across assigned areas.

•      Develop daily work schedules and assign manpower according to operational priorities and site requirements.

•      Oversee gardeners, landscape technicians, and maintenance teams to ensure productivity and adherence to quality benchmarks.

•      Ensure ongoing maintenance of trees, palms, shrubs, groundcovers, lawns, and seasonal plants.

•      Supervise horticultural work such as pruning, trimming, mowing, planting, fertilization, weeding, mulching, and plant replacement.

•      Carry out routine site inspections and confirm landscape areas meet required quality and presentation standards.

•      Monitor plant health and assess irrigation issues, pests, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and other horticultural concerns.

•      Track irrigation system performance and coordinate with the irrigation team on leaks, blockages, damaged components, and watering schedules.

•      Ensure optimal use of manpower, tools, machinery, equipment, and landscape materials.

•      Monitor inventory and material requirements, coordinating timely availability of fertilizers, chemicals, plants, soil, and other maintenance materials.

•      Ensure landscape machinery and equipment are properly operated, maintained, and promptly reported for repair when needed.

•      Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, PPE requirements, toolbox talks, and safe work practices.

•      Monitor safe handling and application of fertilizers, pesticides, chemicals, and other landscape materials.

•      Follow up on work orders, site observations, client feedback, and corrective actions through to closure.

•      Produce daily and weekly reports covering manpower, completed works, pending activities, materials, equipment, and operational issues.

•      Maintain accurate records and operational trackers for landscape maintenance activities.

•      Coordinate with Landscape Management, Irrigation, Nursery, HSE, Facilities, Logistics, and other supporting functions.

•      Recognize operational challenges, manpower shortages, quality issues, or delays and escalate them to the Line Manager.

•      Assist with employee performance monitoring and provide on-the-job guidance and coaching to the landscape team.

•      Ensure all assigned landscape maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

•      Perform any other duties related to landscape maintenance operations as directed by the Line Manager.

Job Requirements

Qualification and Experience

•      Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Landscape Management, Plant Production, or a related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in landscape maintenance or horticultural operations, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-leading role. Strong practical knowledge of softscape maintenance, plant care, irrigation systems, pest and disease identification, manpower supervision, quality control, and HSE requirements is essential. Experience in large-scale landscaping, hospitality, resorts, facilities management, or major development projects is preferred, along with good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
