Role Description

As a Recruitment Consultant at MichaelPage, you will:

• Build relationships with both existing and prospective clients, understanding their businesses, technology environments, and permanent hiring requirements.
• Spot and develop new business opportunities through market research, client outreach, referrals, and professional networking.
• Own the full permanent recruitment lifecycle, including client briefings, candidate sourcing and assessment, interview coordination, offer negotiation, and placement follow-up.
• Create candidate networks across software engineering, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data, and enterprise applications using direct sourcing, referrals, and market mapping.
• Partner with hiring managers to define the technical expertise, experience, and relevant qualifications required for each role.
• Evaluate candidates against job-related requirements, taking into account technical capabilities, relevant achievements, and career aspirations.
• Coordinate technical assessments and other job-relevant selection activities with clients.
• Advise clients and candidates on talent availability, remuneration, hiring requirements, and recruitment processes.
• Develop recruitment proposals and negotiate fees and service terms in line with company guidelines.
• Support clients and candidates through offer acceptance, notice periods, and onboarding, maintaining contact after placement.
• Continuously grow your understanding of technology functions, emerging skills, and industry developments to deliver informed recruitment guidance.
• Collaborate with colleagues across teams and locations to support client opportunities, candidate referrals, and recruitment delivery.
• Keep accurate recruitment records and manage client and candidate information according to applicable requirements and company policies.
• Maintain fair recruitment practices, confidentiality, and professional integrity across the recruitment process.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Relevant experience in recruitment, technology, technical sales, business development or account management, with transferable skills for client engagement and recruitment delivery.
• Strong interest in technology recruitment and a willingness to build specialist market knowledge. Experience recruiting for or working within technology functions is advantageous.
• The ability to understand technical hiring requirements and communicate effectively with hiring managers and technology professionals.
• Commercial awareness, with the ability to identify opportunities, engage prospective clients, and develop existing accounts.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, using a consultative approach to understand client and candidate needs.
• Excellent research and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
• Initiative, persistence, and the ability to respond constructively to changing client requirements and recruitment challenges.
• A commitment to service quality, fair hiring, and building trusted, long-term professional relationships.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
