Workday Integrations Specialist

Overview

The Workday Integrations Specialist plays a crucial role in the design, development, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of integrations between Workday, internal enterprise applications, and external systems. This position is essential for providing technical expertise on both inbound and outbound integrations, ensuring efficient, secure, and scalable data exchanges that support various business processes including HR, Payroll, and Finance.

In this role, the Workday Integrations Specialist collaborates closely with HR, IT, business stakeholders, system architects, vendors, and project teams to deliver integration solutions that meet business needs, adhere to enterprise standards, and fulfill operational goals.

Your Role

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain integrations within Workday.
• Configure and implement integrations using Workday integration technologies, such as:
• Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
• Core Connectors
• Workday Studio
• Workday Web Services (WWS)
• REST and SOAP APIs
• Report-as-a-Service (RaaS)
• Analyze business requirements and convert them into effective integration solutions.
• Ensure integrations are scalable, maintainable, and consistent with enterprise architecture standards.
• Provide ongoing support for existing Workday integrations.
• Identify and troubleshoot integration failures, data discrepancies, and performance challenges.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
• Support Workday releases by evaluating impacts, testing integrations, and executing necessary updates.
• Identify opportunities for automating manual processes and enhancing integration reliability.
• Recommend and implement improvements to increase integration performance, stability, and efficiency.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, technical specifications, process flows, and support procedures related to integrations.
• Coordinate with vendors and implementation partners regarding integration deliverables.
• Lead meetings, workshops, and discussions to gather requirements and update project status.
• Provide technical insights on integration capabilities, limitations, and best practices.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
  
  

About You

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in developing and supporting Workday integrations.
• In-depth knowledge of Workday integration technologies including EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, APIs, and RaaS.
• Experience in integrating Workday with enterprise applications such as:
• HR systems
• Payroll platforms
• Identity management solutions
• ServiceNow
• ERP systems
• Third-party vendors
• Proficient in working with XML, XSLT, JSON, REST, SOAP, and web services.
• Understanding of integration patterns, middleware, and cloud integration platforms.
• Experience with global organizations and multi-region processes is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Expertise in integration design, system architecture, and data transformation.
• Familiarity with HR and Payroll business processes.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Azure Environment is advantageous.
• Workday Integration Certification is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ownership, accountability, and customer focus.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
• Proactive and capable of working independently, navigating ambiguity, and driving tasks forward with limited direction.

• Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders across various time zones.
