Job Overview

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Designing and executing embedded real-time software solutions that adhere to functional safety and cybersecurity standards.
• Contributing to the development of system architecture, defining system requirements, and participating in software design processes.
• Assigning system requirements to software components and technical subsystems.
• Creating high-quality embedded software utilizing C, C++, and various scripting languages.
• Engaging in agile methodologies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily collaboration, and retrospectives.
• Performing object-oriented design, coding, debugging, and optimizing embedded applications.
• Conducting peer code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and secure development protocols.
• Managing source code, branching, and release processes using version control systems such as Git.
• Developing and executing unit, integration, and system-level testing procedures.
• Investigating and rectifying software defects as well as hardware-software integration challenges.
• Prototyping software solutions on custom hardware and assisting with low-level board bring-up tasks.
• Utilizing debugging and diagnostic instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, and debuggers to troubleshoot issues.
• Building and maintaining Embedded Linux environments, which include device drivers, device trees, boot loaders, and Yocto-based distributions.
• Implementing data protection and cybersecurity features throughout products and development processes.
• Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards, regulations, and product certification requirements, including considerations for the EU Cyber Resilience Act (EU-CRA).
• Participating in initiatives aimed at continuous improvement, focusing on performance enhancement, code refactoring, automation, and software quality improvements.
• Mentoring team members and providing technical support to foster team growth and ensure project success.
• Collaborating effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners across various geographical locations.

Essential Qualifications:

• Substantial experience in developing embedded software on Linux-based platforms.
• Proficient programming skills in C, C++, and shell scripting.
• Experience with device driver development, Yocto build systems, and device tree configurations.
• Familiarity with boot loaders, preferably U-Boot, and understanding of Linux kernel concepts.
• Experience with ARM, PowerPC, or similar embedded processor architectures.
• Knowledge of embedded hardware components such as flash memory, ADCs, and RTC devices.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols like I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-232, RS-485, or Modbus.
• Proficiency in data management using SQLite, JSON, or similar technologies.
• Able to develop, execute, and maintain unit and integration testing solutions.
• Experience with debugging tools such as GDB, JTAG, J-Link, and related technologies.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and software vulnerability management.
• Knowledge of open-source software licensing considerations.
• Experience working in agile software development environments.
• Familiarity with virtualized development environments.
• Experience using Azure DevOps or similar platforms for software lifecycle management and CI/CD implementation.
• Experience implementing encryption and data security mechanisms for embedded products.
• Able to identify, analyze, and mitigate software security vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools and practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Capacity to adapt, learn swiftly, and work effectively in dynamic environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications That Distinguish You:

• Experience in developing products for temperature, pressure, electricity, gas, or industrial measurement applications.
• Familiarity with UML or similar modeling techniques for software architecture and design.
• Experience working with RTOS environments.
• Experience in developing user interfaces utilizing the Qt framework.
• Acquainted with distributed version control systems and collaborative development practices.
• Experience with static code analysis and compliance tools for coding standards.
• Knowledge of software build automation frameworks and cross-platform development practices.
• Experience in developing multi-threaded applications on single-core or multi-core processors.
• Exposure to cybersecurity standards and frameworks such as IEC 62443 and EU-CRA.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding, testing, or productivity workflows.
• Familiarity with threat modeling techniques and security-focused development methodologies.
