Technical Lead

Job Summary

Lead the technical delivery of hybrid cloud native web applications built with AWS React TypeScript Node JS and Java Springboot, while ensuring high quality engineering practices. This is a day shift role with no travel. Partner across teams to design secure, scalable solutions and apply domain expertise in auto claims and property and casualty insurance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end to end cloud native applications on AWS using services that support scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise solutions for business critical insurance functions
• Create rich, responsive user interfaces with React and TypeScript that deliver accessible, intuitive, and high performing experiences for internal and external stakeholders
• Develop robust backend services with Node JS by exposing well structured APIs and enabling reliable integrations with internal platforms and external partners across the insurance ecosystem
• Build and maintain Java Springboot microservices to support modular deployment, clear service boundaries, and efficient data processing for transactional and analytical workloads
• Improve application performance through service profiling, query tuning, refinement of front end rendering strategies, and elimination of bottlenecks impacting latency, throughput, and user responsiveness
• Apply secure coding practices throughout the stack by validating input, protecting sensitive data, managing secrets via AWS services, and adhering to internal compliance guidelines
• Work with product managers, business analysts, and quality engineers to refine user stories, define acceptance criteria, and deliver increments aligned with customer outcomes
• Advise on the selection and configuration of AWS infrastructure components—including compute, storage, networking, and managed services—to balance cost, reliability, and performance objectives
• Implement automated testing strategies spanning unit, integration, and end to end scenarios to strengthen regression detection and support confident, frequent production releases
• Contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines by configuring build jobs, test execution, quality gates, and deployment workflows that improve delivery speed and stability
• Document solution designs, technical decisions, and operational runbooks in a clear, organized manner to enable efficient maintenance and extension by support teams and future engineers
• Collaborate with stakeholders in auto claims and property and casualty insurance to convert domain requirements into technical designs that improve claims handling, underwriting, and policy servicing
• Provide mentoring and code review support to peers by sharing best practices in React TypeScript Node JS Java Springboot and AWS, while promoting an inclusive and collaborative engineering culture

Qualifications

• Have six to ten years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on building and scaling distributed web applications for complex business domains
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in React and TypeScript, including state management patterns, reusable component design, and integration with backend APIs for dynamic, data driven interfaces
• Show strong hands on experience in Node JS and Java Springboot, including building RESTful services, integrating with databases, and implementing domain logic with a focus on maintainability and testability
• Prove capability with AWS core services for compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and security, along with practical experience in infrastructure as code and cloud cost awareness
• Bring practical understanding of auto claims and property and casualty insurance processes as a desirable asset to support effective collaboration with domain experts and product stakeholders
• Communicate effectively in hybrid work settings by leveraging collaboration tools, providing structured updates, and participating in inclusive discussions to keep distributed team members aligned and productive during day shift operations
• Maintain a continuous learning mindset by staying current with AWS React TypeScript Node JS and Java Springboot updates and applying new techniques to improve quality, reliability, and user value

Certifications Required

AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate preferred
