Collaborating with a Senior Developer, you will play a vital role in the development of Python FastAPI backend services, React front-end components, and REST API integrations, including connections with third-party documentation vendors that enhance Emerson's worldwide product information ecosystem.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Develop and manage Python FastAPI backend services and REST APIs that support MyAssets, FDDH, and product documentation platforms, guided by the Senior Developer.
- Create and sustain React.js front-end components, focusing on state management, responsive design, and integration with FastAPI backend services for product and asset management tasks.
- Construct and maintain PostgreSQL queries, assist with schema modifications, and facilitate data migrations for platform databases.
- Support REST API integrations with third-party documentation platforms (such as Zoomin) by consuming APIs, managing data transformation, and aiding publication processes.
- Implement SDLC methodologies throughout feature development and design, including the design, development, testing, and support of production releases across the portfolio.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and React layers, escalating complex root causes to the Senior Developer with thorough analysis.
- Produce clean, well-documented, reusable code that adheres to team standards, actively participate in code reviews, and maintain technical documentation for features under your purview, including notes on API endpoints, data flow, and test cases.
- Collaborate effectively with Product Owners, QA, and System Analysts to grasp requirements and deliver high-quality solutions on schedule.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies and CI/CD practices utilizing Azure DevOps.

Requirements for This Role:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of practical software development experience, with a focus on Python and React in a professional setting.
- Expertise in developing REST API services using FastAPI, including endpoint definitions, Pydantic models, request/response handling, and foundational async patterns.
- Proficient in creating React components utilizing modern JavaScript (ES6+), state management (Redux or Context API), and integration with REST API backends.
- Experience in consuming and creating REST APIs, with a solid understanding of HTTP methods, status codes, JSON payloads, and basic authentication techniques (JWT or API key).
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MySQL, including the ability to write queries, understand basic schema, and support data operations within a relational database framework.
- Knowledge of Git version control, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools, and experience with sprint-based delivery, coupled with strong communication skills in English.
- Experience with integrations involving third-party SaaS platforms or documentation tool APIs (such as Zoomin, Paligo, or similar) via REST.
- Understanding of product information, asset management, or documentation delivery systems.
- Exposure to asynchronous programming patterns in Python, including FastAPI Background Tasks, Celery, or basic task queuing concepts.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks like PyTest for backend and Jest or React Testing Library for frontend.
- Basic knowledge of Docker for local development environments.
- Experience working within international, cross-time zone Agile delivery teams.
