Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Performance QA Engineer to become a vital part of a renowned global organization within the financial technology sector. This role is centered around guaranteeing the stability, scalability, and performance of intricate, low-latency trading and data platforms. You will engage with high-performance, real-time systems in an agile setting, performing in-depth performance analyses, pinpointing bottlenecks, and leading the design of performance-optimized systems. Your contributions will enhance performance testing frameworks, foster close collaboration with engineering and architecture teams, and advocate for best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Primary Duties:

• Execute comprehensive performance testing and analysis on low-latency, real-time systems
• Detect, troubleshoot, and rectify performance bottlenecks within the technology stack
• Research, assess, and suggest performance testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to provide insights on performance-optimized system design
• Conduct system-level assessments focusing on throughput, latency, concurrency, scalability, and failover
• Evaluate current architecture and spearhead performance-focused enhancements
• Convey findings and insights to technical stakeholders, business units, and leadership
• Work alongside developers to validate solutions and re-evaluate performance metrics
• Foster and advocate for a performance-driven engineering culture across teams
• Deliver structured, insightful feedback on issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement

Essential Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience with low-latency, high-throughput, high-availability, real-time, fault-tolerant systems
• Over 10 years of relevant performance engineering experience
• Hands-on experience in Java coding
• Robust understanding of performance engineering principles and system design for distributed systems
• Proficient with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, Locust, k6)
• Skilled in profiling/monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, New Relic, AppDynamics)
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tooling (CI/CD, Docker, pipelines, scripting)
• Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms
• Comfortable in cloud and containerized environments (e.g., Cloud, Kubernetes)
• Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving competencies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Capital Markets or trading systems
• Knowledge of the FIX protocol
