Senior Network Engineer – Wi-Fi & Wireless Systems

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned, forward-thinking Senior Network Engineer with strong domain expertise in enterprise-grade Wi-Fi and wireless communication technologies. This role focuses on designing, deploying, securing, troubleshooting, and continuously optimizing our global wireless infrastructure.

You will collaborate closely with security, systems, and global IT teams to deliver high-performance, ultra-reliable, and secure Wi-Fi connectivity across offices, campuses, and remote facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Wireless Architecture & Design: Own the end-to-end design, architecture, and deployment of enterprise-grade WLAN solutions, including the execution of advanced predictive and on-site RF site surveys (e.g., using Ekahau).

Implementation & Configuration: Configure and administer enterprise wireless controllers, access points (APs), and cloud-based management platforms (such as Cisco Meraki, Aruba Central, and Juniper Mist).

Optimization & Performance Tuning: Continuously monitor and refine RF environments—channel assignment, transmit power, channel width, and band steering—to limit interference, lower latency, and maximize client throughput.

Security & Access Control: Deploy comprehensive wireless security controls including 802.1X, WPA3-Enterprise, RADIUS/TACACS+, rogue AP detection, and secure guest access segmentation.

Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Act as the final escalation tier (Tier 3/4) for advanced wireless connectivity challenges, roaming problems, authentication failures, and performance bottlenecks.

Automation & Monitoring: Use automation scripts (Python, Ansible) and network telemetry to simplify configuration management, report on network KPIs, and automate routine operational activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Professional Experience & Wireless Expertise

5+ years of practical experience in enterprise network engineering, with a primary focus on wireless/Wi-Fi design and operations.

Strong working knowledge of IEEE 802.11 standards (Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Wi-Fi 7), roaming protocols (802.11r/k/v), and RF fundamentals (RSSI, SNR, multipath interference).

Significant experience deploying and supporting enterprise WLAN hardware and platforms (e.g., Cisco Catalyst/Meraki, ArubaOS/Central, Juniper Mist).

Networking Core Competencies

Strong foundation in routing and switching concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF/BGP, STP, trunking, and PoE management).

Working familiarity with DHCP, DNS, and AAA/RADIUS architectures (e.g., ClearPass, Cisco ISE).

Experience using packet analysis tools (such as Wireshark) to perform detailed wireless frame analysis.

Certifications

CWNP Certified Wireless Network Professional certification (e.g., CWDP, CWSP, or CWNE) is strongly preferred.

Relevant industry vendor certifications including CCNP Enterprise / CCNA Wireless or Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting wireless infrastructure in high-density settings (such as large open-office environments, auditoriums, and warehouses).

Knowledge of location-based services (LBS), Wi-Fi asset tracking, and IoT wireless integration (Zigbee, BLE).

Ability to code or script in Python or Bash for network automation.
