Senior Data Project Manager – Data, Analytics & Cloud

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Project Manager to oversee intricate data, analytics, cloud, data migration, and digital transformation initiatives. This position requires the management of various workstreams, collaboration with cross-functional teams, engagement with senior stakeholders, and coordination with external vendors to guarantee the successful execution of strategic technology projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the comprehensive delivery of complex data, analytics, cloud, and digital transformation projects.
• Supervise project planning, defining scope, managing timelines, budgets, resources, milestones, and dependencies.
• Facilitate coordination among multiple workstreams involving Data Engineers, Data Architects, Analysts, Data Scientists, Cloud, DevOps, QA, Security, and Governance teams.
• Engage with senior business and technology stakeholders and provide consistent programme updates.
• Conduct governance meetings, steering committees, and project reviews.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions (RAID).
• Oversee relationships with vendors, contractors, and external technology partners.
• Ensure the successful implementation of data platforms, data pipelines, data warehouses, data migrations, and analytics solutions.
• Address data quality, security, privacy, metadata, lineage, and governance requirements.
• Supervise ETL/ELT, data validation, reconciliation, testing, UAT, deployment, and production readiness.
• Manage change requests and evaluate their impact on project scope, cost, timeline, resources, and quality.
• Lead release, migration, cutover, and transition-to-support tasks.
• Prepare executive dashboards, project reports, financial updates, and risk summaries.
• Conduct post-project reviews and monitor business benefits and outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Project or Programme Management.
• Demonstrated expertise in delivering complex Data, Analytics, Cloud, Data Migration, Integration, Data Platform, or Digital Transformation projects.
• Extensive experience managing multiple cross-functional teams and technical workstreams.
• Solid understanding of Cloud Data Architecture, particularly with AWS and/or GCP.
• Proficient knowledge of PySpark and Scala data pipelines.
• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT, APIs, data integration, data warehousing, and data lakes/lakehouses.
• Familiarity with data modelling, scheduling, and orchestration platforms.
• Experience in data governance, metadata management, data catalogues, data lineage, and data quality.
• Experience with data validation, transformation, reconciliation, testing, and UAT.
• Strong capabilities in budget, resource, vendor, and risk management.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Robust knowledge of Agile/Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Smartsheet.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP / PRINCE2 / PMI-ACP / SAFe / Scrum Master or equivalent certification.
• AWS / GCP / Azure / Databricks / Snowflake or Data Governance certification.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, Government, or Telecommunications.
