Payments and Cards Testing Consultant

Job Description:

• In your role as a Senior Consultant with a focus on DTA payments and card solutions, you will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge payment systems for international financial institutions.
• You will collaborate closely with business technology and operations teams to design and enhance payment processes utilizing Global Pay Plus and SEPA frameworks, ensuring secure, compliant, and high-performance transaction handling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee comprehensive consulting projects related to DTA payments and card processing, employing Global Pay Plus and SEPA standards.
• Evaluate client payment ecosystems, identify deficiencies, and outline target state architectures and modernization roadmaps.
• Design and configure Global Pay Plus modules for SEPA credit transfers, direct debits, and associated payment schemes to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
• Convert business and regulatory needs into precise functional and technical specifications, including XML-based payment messages.
• Work together with engineering teams to integrate payment solutions with core banking systems, card platforms, and external payment networks.
• Perform impact analyses, solution design reviews, and walkthroughs with stakeholders across business, technology, and operations.
• Assist in the testing strategy (SIT, UAT, regression) by defining test scenarios, validating XML message structures, and troubleshooting any issues.
• Offer subject matter expertise on SEPA regulations, cut-off times, settlement cycles, and exception management for high-volume payment processing.
• Advise clients on optimal practices for payment operations, straight-through processing, and risk and compliance measures in the payments and cards sector.
• Guide and mentor junior consultants, sharing your expertise and contributing to internal accelerators, templates, and knowledge bases.

Technical Requirements:

• Minimum Qualifications
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 20 years of experience in payments or card consulting, implementation, or solution design roles.
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Global Pay Plus in implementation, configuration, or solution architecture.
• Extensive knowledge of SEPA payment schemes, including credit transfer and direct debit, along with message formats, processing flows, and compliance standards.
• A strong understanding of XML-based payment messages and schemas relevant to SEPA and banking payment interfaces.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a consulting or client-facing capacity.
