Job Description
Job Overview:
- We are in search of a qualified OT engineer proficient in Rockwell RS Logix 5000 or other PLCs, along with Ignition expertise, to create Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Operational Technology (OT) solutions.
- This position encompasses the development, integration, management, troubleshooting, and enhancement of MES and Ignition systems, ensuring that production processes run smoothly and align with organizational objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deployment and Integration
- Support the rollout of new features, configurations, and integrations for FactoryTalk and Ignition systems.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to facilitate effective communication among Ignition PLCs, MES, and ERP systems.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution
- Examine system logs and perform root cause analyses for system-related issues and failures.
- Address hardware and software problems associated with MES and OT systems.
- Minimize production downtime by delivering prompt and efficient support during system outages.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Keep thorough documentation of troubleshooting procedures, system configurations, and modifications.
- Create and distribute regular performance reports, highlighting system availability and uptime statistics.
- Training and Stakeholder Engagement
- Educate plant staff and operators on the effective utilization and best practices for MES systems.
- Work with vendors and external partners to escalate and resolve intricate issues.
- Compliance and Best Practices
- Ensure systems comply with corporate IT and OT policies and standards, including cybersecurity measures.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in MES, Ignition, and PLC technologies.
Technical Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience supporting MES and Ignition systems in manufacturing settings.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA, and MES systems integration.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC, MQTT, and Modbus.
- Expertise in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Ignition MES.
- Experience with SQL databases and scripting for Ignition.
- Familiarity with ISA 95 architecture and MES OT integration frameworks.
- Understanding of IT and OT convergence network architecture and cybersecurity standards.
