Forward Deployed Engineer

Role purpose

Create and enhance AI, data, or enterprise engineering solutions for Ascendion clients. Convert a business

requirement into tested, working software; articulate the reasoning behind your decisions and take full ownership of the work

you deliver.

Expected outcomes

• Deliver assigned components that meet agreed tests and client acceptance criteria, with clear
  
  

documentation and a practical handover.

• Show how your work improves a user workflow, system quality, or delivery effort, and explain
  
  

the evidence gathered and any remaining limitations.

Core Responsibilities

• Engage with client engineers and domain experts to clarify requirements. Present practical options and
  
  

align implementation choices with the underlying business problem.

• Build, debug, integrate, and test solutions. Progress work through release and address issues in the
  
  

components you own.

• Partner with Ascendion teams, technology partners, and alliances to resolve dependencies and
  
  

strengthen client trust through dependable delivery.

• Apply AI tools with sound judgment. Validate outputs and follow relevant security, data quality, privacy, and
  
  

responsible AI practices.

Must Have Experience And Skills

• Proven AI engineering experience with hands-on depth in at least one of the technical areas below,
  
  

backed by strong programming, debugging, and testing skills.

• At least one delivered component or system that you can discuss in depth, including your contribution, design
  
  

choices, tests, failures, and results.

• Experience clarifying stakeholder needs and communicating recommendations. Demonstrate both practical
  
  

problem framing and hands-on implementation work.

• Strong written and spoken communication, ownership, and follow-through. Work independently
  
  

within your scope, seek feedback, and collaborate with others.

Seniority and leadership expectations

Take ownership of a defined delivery piece as an individual contributor and team player. Assist discussions with

AI, data, and engineering leaders and provide evidence to support CxO discussions. As experience increases, assume

larger components and help other engineers.

Relevant technical expertise

Deep implementation knowledge in at least one area is required. Multiple combinations are acceptable; include

evidence aligned to your specific specialization.

• AI and decision systems: build or assess ML, Generative AI, Data Science, or Decision Science
  
  

solutions. Describe model or retrieval quality, failure scenarios, and how outputs are verified.

• Data and analytics: create SQL transformations, data models, or cloud pipelines enabling usable
  
  

enterprise analytics. Present data quality checks on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or another

hyperscaler.

• Enterprise engineering: implement APIs, middleware integrations, or delivery automation. Provide
  
  

tests and release controls using appropriate DevOps, DataOps, DataSecOps, or release management

practices.

Good To Have Experience And Capabilities

• Contribute to an enterprise AI transformation workstream, client workshop, partner demonstration
  
  

or executive presentation.

• Industry exposure in healthcare and life sciences (HCLS), banking, financial services and insurance
  
  

(BFSI), HiTech, or another industry.

• Open-source contributions, internal tools, or other proof of self-directed building; experience with AI governance,
  
  

Ethical AI, or Responsible AI.

Location and travel

Preferred locations, in order: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune. Work from an Ascendion office

or client location; permanent work from home is not available. Travel within India and internationally for

client engagements and conferences is required.
