Core Banking Test Analyst

We are looking for a seasoned Test Analyst with substantial expertise in the banking sector, specializing in retail banking and Signature mainframe Core Banking Software Applications. In this role, you will be tasked with the design, development, and execution of testing strategies and plans for essential banking applications. A thorough understanding of the domain, exceptional analytical capabilities, and practical experience with legacy systems are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Comprehend business and system requirements for Core Banking (Retail) products and services.
• Develop and document test strategies, test plans, test cases, Test Summary Reports, and test data in alignment with business and technical specifications.
• Implement both manual and automated test cases throughout multiple testing phases, including System, Integration, and UAT.
• Conduct backend testing on mainframe systems, ensuring the validation of batch processes and data integrity.
• Engage in requirement and design reviews to proactively identify and address potential quality concerns.
• Collaborate closely with business analysts, developers, and project managers to facilitate high-quality project deliverables.
• Evaluate test results and document clear, concise defects as necessary.
• Lead defect triage discussions and oversee the defect lifecycle until resolution.
• Provide test estimates, monitor progress, and report on testing metrics.
• Adhere to QA processes and standards to ensure compliance.
• Mentor junior test analysts and promote knowledge sharing within teams.
• Work with cross-functional teams to conduct test design reviews and guarantee comprehensive test coverage.
• Automate manual test cases during sprints and construct a robust automation test suite.

Essential Skills Description:

• Over 5 years of experience in QA/testing, particularly within Retail Banking/Financial Services.
• Thorough understanding and practical experience with Signature Mainframe Core Banking Software Applications.
• Extensive knowledge of the mortgage domain, including origination, servicing, underwriting, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in data migration testing.
• Experience in addressing critical production issues.
• Skilled in batch job testing, file validations, and data reconciliation.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools, including qTest and JIRA.
• Strong SQL capabilities for data validation and test data preparation.
• Experience in preparing test plans and test summary reports.
• Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, and SDLC methodologies.
• Able to work autonomously and lead testing initiatives for projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with various automation tools and/or similar technologies such as TOSCA, Selenium, or Playwright.

Additional Requirements:

• Core Banking experience is required.
• Experience with Fiserv Signature is advantageous.
• Preference will be given to candidates located in Bengaluru or Pune.
