Civil & Structural Lead Engineer

Overview

The Civil & Structural Lead Engineer will oversee the engineering, design coordination, and delivery of complex semiconductor fabrication plants, cleanrooms, advanced technology facilities, and industrial projects. Working closely with Process, Architectural, Mechanical, HVAC, Electrical, and Construction teams, the role ensures structural designs are safe, effective, compliant, and able to support advanced manufacturing operations.

Your role

• Lead the design and delivery of civil and structural engineering solutions for complex semiconductor fabrication plants, cleanrooms, advanced technology facilities, and industrial projects
• Prepare structural concepts, define design criteria, produce calculation packages, develop technical reports, and create engineering specifications.
• Design and check structural systems including reinforced concrete, structural steel, foundations, equipment support structures, elevated service platforms, and industrial buildings.
• Coordinate with Process, Architectural, Mechanical, HVAC, and Electrical disciplines to support integrated project delivery.
• Carry out and review structural analysis, seismic assessments, foundation design, and equipment load evaluations.
• Ensure structural designs meet vibration-sensitive requirements for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and cleanroom needs.
• Lead multidisciplinary design reviews, constructability reviews, and value engineering workshops.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, vendor documentation, and technical queries.
• Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
• Provide engineering support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Guarantee compliance with applicable local and international codes, standards, and client specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, and deliver technical leadership across the project team.
• Partner with global AtkinsRéalis structural specialists to apply best practices and maintain consistent engineering quality.
  
  

About You

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer registration or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading civil and structural design for semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or industrial projects.
• In-depth knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel structures, industrial foundations, equipment support systems, and seismic design.
• Experience with vibration-sensitive facilities and heavy process equipment foundations.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary EPCM/EPC project environments.
• Competency in structural engineering software such as ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with BIM, Revit, and multidisciplinary coordination tools.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
