Assistant Director of Nursing

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and assess nursing services in collaboration with the Director of Nursing (DON)
• Direct and oversee nursing and care teams, offering clinical direction and support
• Align residential care activities with Nurse Managers and the nursing personnel
• Perform nursing rounds and address clinical, safety, and service-related concerns
• Evaluate and enhance the quality of nursing care through audits, quality improvement strategies, and corrective measures
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, fire safety regulations, security measures, and nursing standards
• Examine and manage atypical incidents, escalating issues to the DON as necessary
• Collaborate closely with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination
• Assess residents' evolving care needs and propose enhancements to nursing services
• Guarantee sufficient staffing, suitable skill mix, and adequate coverage throughout shifts
• Supervise nursing competencies, staff performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives
• Assist the DON with new programs, projects, and operational matters, and act on behalf of the DON when needed.
• Engage in staff training, nursing committees, quality improvement projects, and additional assigned responsibilities.

Requirements

• Fully Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
• Degree in Nursing or an equivalent health-related qualification
• Advanced Diploma in a relevant clinical specialty
• 10 years of progressive clinical and administrative experience in acute or residential care settings
• 2 years of experience in a similar role within a medium/large nursing home, OR 5 years of experience as a Senior Nurse Manager in an acute hospital, community hospital, or nursing home
• Proven record of continuous professional development
