Job Description
Job Overview:
- We are looking for an accomplished 3D Designer Developer with a strong background in NVIDIA Omniverse OpenUSD and real-time 3D content generation for large-scale digital twins in manufacturing settings.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming intricate CAD PLM assets into streamlined OpenUSD scenes, developing customized Omniverse extensions, and facilitating high-performance analytics-driven 3D environments that adhere to advanced manufacturing principles and the Factory of the Future concept.
Primary Responsibilities:
- USD Asset Creation and Scene Organization
- Transform CAD PLM assets into OpenUSD, ensuring appropriate materials, metadata variants, and structured scene hierarchies.
- Adhere to rigorous USD authoring standards, including composition layers, naming conventions, and asset integrity verification.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines for the validation of USD assets, materials, physics configurations, and Omniverse extensions.
- 3D Performance Optimization
- Enhance large-scale factory scenes through geometry reduction, LODs, texture atlasing, and minimizing draw calls.
- Monitor and fine-tune GPU usage, RTX rendering, and scene complexity for optimal multi-user real-time performance.
- Ensure visual, functional, and physics accuracy within intricate 3D environments.
- Development of Omniverse Extensions
- Create Omniverse Kit extensions using Python and C for simulation controls, user interface tools, parameter editing, analytics overlays, and workflow automation.
- Design scalable tools for designers and engineers to enhance asset ingestion, setup, review, and simulation configuration workflows.
- Manufacturing Data Integration
- Incorporate BOM routing processes, parameter cycles, and other manufacturing datasets into OpenUSD scenes.
- Set up physics, kinematics, part flow, conveyor logic, buffers, and station behaviors to facilitate realistic bottleneck analysis and cycle time evaluations.
- Real-Time Collaboration and Streaming
- Support multi-user collaboration through shared sessions and streaming, utilizing Omniverse Nucleus and associated services.
- Assist with scenario reviews, interactive walkthroughs, and real-time design assessments across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- KPI Visualization and Analytics
- Develop in-scene visualizations of operational KPIs, including throughput, cycle time, utilization, WIP, and OEE.
- Enable the export of analytical data to external dashboards and enterprise reporting platforms.
- Cross-Functional Teamwork
- Work closely with platform engineers, integration teams, manufacturing subject matter experts, and program managers to ensure alignment with Factory of the Future principles and simulation requirements.
- Offer technical advice on 3D asset standards, workflows, performance optimization, and industry best practices.
Technical Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in CAD to OpenUSD conversion, materials management, and scene structuring.
- Hands-on proficiency with NVIDIA Omniverse, including Kit workflows, Nucleus, and RTX rendering.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C for the development of Omniverse extensions.
- In-depth understanding of real-time rendering, 3D optimization methods, physics simulation, and kinematic modeling.
- Familiarity with CAD PLM tools, such as CATIA, Creo, NX, and SolidWorks, along with knowledge of manufacturing datasets like BOM routing and cycle times.
- Understanding of digital twin processes, manufacturing operations, and industrial process modeling.
- Ability to thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environments while delivering high-quality 3D assets at scale.
