zDIH Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description:

• We are looking for a skilled zDIH Infrastructure Engineer who possesses expertise in IBM z OS DB2 IMS data replication technologies, shell scripting, and API integration support. This role will be pivotal in managing the IBM Z-based data integration infrastructure, ensuring dependable data transfer across enterprise platforms, automating operational tasks through shell scripting, and enabling API-driven integration between mainframe and distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• The following responsibilities are integral to this position:
• Install, configure, and maintain components of the IBM Z Digital Integration Hub (zDIH), including Data Virtualization Manager (DVM) and Event Publisher.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity, performance, and stability issues related to zDIH.
• Create and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts (Bash, ksh) to automate deployment, monitoring, configuration management, and other operational tasks.
• Develop automation scripts for log analysis, alert generation, health checks, and scheduled jobs.
• Design, develop, and maintain REST API interfaces to expose mainframe data through zDIH endpoints.
• Implement API security measures using authentication techniques such as OAuth 2.0, API keys, and mutual TLS.
• Oversee Unix/Linux server environments that support zDIH middleware components.
• Execute capacity planning, process monitoring, and tuning of OS-level parameters.
• Create and update technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Collaborate with IBM support and manage PMR case resolution for zDIH-related issues.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Technical Requirements:

• Essential skills include:
• Mainframe skills such as JCL, TSO, etc.
• DB2 and IMS on z/OS in a data sharing context.
• Replication technologies including IIDR, CDC, and Q Replication.
• Unix shell scripting, USS, and API fundamentals along with troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of mainframe security.
• Preferred skills include:
• Proficiency in Python for automation and familiarity with monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.
• Performance optimization skills are highly desirable; a programming background is a plus. Knowledge of Ansible, JavaScript, and MS Access is also advantageous.
