Job Description

We are looking for a Test Lead with 5-7 years of experience to lead and manage a dynamic testing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating testing efforts, ensuring the successful delivery of test milestones, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and processes. As a Test Lead, you will manage and allocate tasks efficiently, track project progress, and communicate key metrics related to test execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management & Task Allocation:

  • Lead a team of testers and assign tasks based on skill sets and priorities.
  • Efficiently manage the workload of team members to ensure the timely completion of tasks and testing milestones.
  • Monitor the daily activities and performance of the team to ensure productivity and quality.
  • Manage the coordination of efforts across cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Project Tracking & Requirements Management:

  • Track project milestones and deliverables to ensure that the testing process aligns with the project timeline.
  • Keep track of evolving requirements and ensure the testing team is updated on new requirements, scope changes, and project objectives.
  • Coordinate with users and stakeholders to gather input, review test results, and obtain approvals for test cases and test plans.

Test Process & Defect Management:

  • Ensure adherence to established test processes and methodologies across the project, from test planning to execution.
  • Conduct daily defect discussions to review identified defects, prioritize them, and ensure their resolution.
  • Oversee the defect lifecycle, ensuring that defects are properly tracked, logged, and managed until they are resolved.

Metrics & Reporting:

  • Be responsible for metrics measurement and implementation to assess the quality and effectiveness of testing activities.
  • Provide regular reports on testing activities, including results, test case coverage, and defects.
  • Prepare status reports and communicate progress, risks, and issues to project stakeholders.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise communication of testing results, issues, and timelines.
  • Manage communication with clients and cross-functional teams to ensure testing activities are aligned with project needs.
  • Coordinate with project managers to escalate issues when needed and ensure that all stakeholders are informed of testing progress and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience:
  • 5-7 years of test lead experience, with a strong background in leading testing teams and managing complex projects in a software development environment.
  • Experience in test process management, task allocation, and defect tracking.
  • Hands-on experience in managing test case creation, test execution, and test reporting.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in using test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of test methodologies, agile processes, and waterfall processes.
  • Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide the team.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing priorities, and adjust to changing project demands.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify issues and find effective solutions.
