Tesco - Automation Tester

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with product manager and developers to understand product requirements and design.
• Document detailed functional and integration test cases.
• Coordinate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders on test case review, identifying missing or complex scenarios.
• Execute tests, publish test reports, and coordinate with product/program stakeholders.
• Analyze server logs, databases, and provide relevant details with reported bugs.
• Track quality metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.
• Develop mocks/stubs to test the functionality of a component in isolation.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Experience in testing APIs, Microservices, and Web applications.
• Hands-on coding experience in Java; able to write efficient, modular, and maintainable code.
• Experience with open-source testing tools/frameworks like Selenium, RestAssured, Karate, Cucumber BDD, TestNG, etc.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and pub-sub technologies.
• Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Outstanding problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong team player, able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
