Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Technician to join our dynamic Radiology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and other radiological exams, to support physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. The role requires a keen attention to detail, excellent patient care, and the ability to operate radiology equipment safely and effectively.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform various radiological exams, including but not limited to X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and fluoroscopic procedures, following established protocols and procedures.
• Ensure proper positioning of patients to obtain high-quality images while minimizing patient discomfort.
• Assist in the preparation and administration of contrast media, if applicable, and ensure proper safety measures are followed during the procedure.
• Explain procedures to patients, addressing any concerns, and ensuring they understand the process.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety before, during, and after radiological exams.
• Provide assistance to patients with mobility issues, and ensure proper positioning on imaging equipment.
• Operate radiologic equipment, such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRI machines, ensuring they are functioning optimally.
• Regularly check and maintain radiological equipment, report any malfunctioning or issues to the supervisor, and ensure timely repairs.
• Assist with calibration of radiologic equipment as needed, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Review images for quality and ensure they meet the required diagnostic standards.
• Adjust imaging equipment settings to optimize image quality while minimizing exposure to radiation.
• Assist in the digital processing and storing of images and ensure proper documentation.
• Follow all safety protocols related to radiation exposure, ensuring that patients, staff, and self are protected at all times.
• Ensure that radiology equipment meets safety standards and regulatory compliance, including proper shielding and radiation safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of radiation doses and patient exposures as per hospital or regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other medical professionals to ensure accurate interpretation of diagnostic images.
• Assist in preparing images and reports for review by radiologists or physicians, ensuring all relevant data is included.
• Coordinate with other departments and staff to schedule patient exams and ensure efficient workflow.
• Accurately document patient information, procedures performed, and any special instructions or observations in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow hospital protocols for data protection.
