Team Lead - DBA

Description

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead - DBA to oversee our database administration team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and will be responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and availability of our database systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Database Administrators to ensure optimal database performance and availability.
• Design and implement database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Conduct regular database maintenance activities such as upgrades, patches, and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and application performance.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and promote best practices in database management.
• Prepare documentation for database architecture, processes, and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications

• 6-10 years of experience in database administration, specifically with Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Strong knowledge of database design, normalization, and optimization techniques.
• Experience with database backup and recovery solutions, including RMAN and log shipping.
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with cloud database solutions such as AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
