Staff Software Engineer, Android, Google Store App

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
• Experience in developing software applications using Java programming language.
• Experience in Android App Development.

Preferred qualifications:

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and improvement of the Google Store Android app.
• Develop clean, reliable code in Kotlin and Java, ensuring it's easy to maintain and test.
• Collaborate with teams in the US and India to deliver high-quality projects on schedule.
• Drive excellence in mobile engineering, focusing on performance, reliability, monitoring, and thorough testing.
• Shape the app's technical direction, prioritize projects strategically, and foster a culture of innovation. Apply Google's best Android engineering practices and proactively address technical debt to enhance the app's scalability and maintainability.
