Staff Network Engineer, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience with network routing protocols, design and troubleshooting, with network equipment providers.
• 7 years of experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Go, or Python.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with planning and designing networks (e.g., multiple sites, multiple products, etc.).
• Experience with VMware network certifications or equivalent experience in (VCP-NV, VCIX-NV, VCDX-NV).
• Experience and practical knowledge in VPN technologies.

Responsibilities

• Drive the quantifiable analysis of measurements, or data and capacity forecast models for making networks more scalable, efficient, and deliver predictable user experience.
• Evaluate the current inefficiencies, complexities, and flaws in network systems and propose designs, software, and processes to improve them.
• Develop software that improves the performance, safety, transparency, and manageability of network systems.
• Plan and execute cloud capacity additions, streamline the process working across cloud teams in google.
• Monitor and manage google cloud networking capacity in partnership with Google cloud networking teams.
