Primary Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage a team of 40 engineers, including System Engineers, Advanced System Engineers, and System Engineering Supervisors.
- Drive team competency management, identify key areas for skill enhancement, and arrange training programs to keep the team updated on industry trends and technologies.
- Recruitment: Hire and onboard the right talent, ensuring alignment with the team's evolving needs.
- Provide leadership for the engineering team to support DCS, ESD, SCADA, F&G, PLC, and CCTV system solutions in line with industry standards.
- Foster a collaborative team environment with a focus on performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Project Engineering Management:
- Oversee all project engineering activities within the HPS LSS INDIA business unit, managing an annual revenue volume of 45 M$ and a project load of 150 projects per year.
- Ensure project design and engineering deliverables adhere to industry standards, with a focus on delivering quality solutions on-time, within budget, and with zero or positive deviation.
- Develop engineering & commissioning scope for each project, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure proper resource allocation and capacity management.
- Drive quality assurance procedures in engineering deliverables across multiple projects, ensuring that every engineering solution is optimized and compliant with both internal and client specifications.
- Ensure technical issue resolution during project execution and support the on-time project handover process.
Customer & Stakeholder Interaction:
- Interact directly with customers, proposal teams, TSCs, solution architects, and sales teams to assess and define project requirements, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
- Regularly conduct project design reviews to assess progress, identify potential roadblocks, and suggest corrective actions.
- Provide technical support during site assessments for complex and integrated projects, and manage installation requirements.
- Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery and resolution of issues.
Process & Best Practices:
- Establish and drive standard and best practices in system design and engineering solutions across the organization, ensuring consistency and excellence in project execution.
- Advocate for digitization and standardization within the engineering team to enhance project efficiency and performance.
- Propose cost-effective solutions to improve the project GM (Gross Margin), ensuring sustainable profitability.
- Drive change management and control strategies to enable engineering teams to rapidly adhere to core processes and use industry-standard tools effectively.
Technical Leadership & Innovation:
- Lead the adoption of new engineering partners for outsourcing and site commissioning to enhance project capacity and resource management.
- Evaluate and suggest innovative technologies and methodologies to improve project design and deliverables, ensuring projects are executed at the cutting edge of industry standards.
- Continuously assess legacy systems (Honeywell TPS, LCN, UCN, HPM/APM) and recommend integration of advanced solutions like process historians, alarm managers, cybersecurity features, and networking protocols.
- Drive technical excellence across all levels of the engineering team, ensuring the delivery of highly complex technical solutions for clients.
Project Performance & Delivery:
- Drive project performance to meet on-time delivery, minimize technical issues, and proactively prevent delays in project schedules.
- Ensure the engineering team is able to handle quick-turnaround projects, while maintaining high standards in design engineering and commissioning.
- Maintain strong focus on project cost management and financial goals through effective resource allocation, technical management, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
YOU MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- 10-15 years of work experience in DCS/ESD/SCADA/F&G/PLC projects, with at least 10 years in a lead engineer or engineering supervisor role.
- 5+ years of experience in team management, leading cross-functional teams in complex projects.
- Experience with legacy Honeywell TPS systems such as LCN, UCN, HPM/APM, as well as complex technical solutions for DCS, ESD, SCADA, and F&G systems.
- Proven track record in project design and engineering in a technology-driven environment, especially in safety-critical industries like oil & gas, energy, or industrial automation.
- In-depth knowledge of networking, cybersecurity, and advanced solutions like process historians, alarm managers, and alarm systems.
- Experience with project performance management and ensuring that engineering solutions align with financial and resource goals.
