 What the Candidate Will Do

1. Hire, inspire, lead, and grow a high performing team of 40 engineers, fostering a customer-focused, collaborative, learning, and inclusive culture.
2. Develop a deep understanding of our customers, their pain points, and Uber's business.
3. Collaborate with global business and product leaders to align on strategic vision and business strategy.
4. Align technical vision with global business strategy incorporating your expectation of business, organizational, and technology trends. Influence and align technical strategy with other engineering organizations .
5. Design and deliver delightful customer-centric solutions meeting both articulated and anticipated needs.
6. Operate with excellence required for operating tier-1 services for a $80B+ business.
7. Partner with global teams to define and execute roadmaps.
8. Drive continuous improvement in processes, architecture, engineering practices. Guide and uphold engineering best practices
9. Manage complex dependencies and balance short and long-term goals.
10. Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
2. 15+ years of software engineering experience.
3. 6+ years managing engineers, 3+ years managing managers.
4. Strong technical architecture, system design, and problem-solving skills.
5. Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, and Business.

 Preferred Qualifications

1. Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related field (a plus).
2. Experience with B2B products and Marketplaces.
3. Experience collaborating with global teams.
